Bangalore's "Eureka" moment

But suddenly in the year 1985, a relatively unknown company in this part of the word called Texas Instruments decided to setup what was called as “Software Design Centre”. The above image was a Eureka moment for Bangalore as the satellite dish of TI was got in a plain old bullock cart to its centre at Millers Road, Bangalore.

Satellite Dish at the TI's office in bangalore

Not so long ago Bangalore was a silent town with lots of greens and a fantastic weather.       Information Technology was a word which wasn’t heard and was confined to the boundaries of IISC. This piece of instrument helped them stay connected 24/7.  This also opened the floodgates to the rest of the MNCs to set up its shop in Bangalore and the rest as they say is history…

The death of Netscape Navigator

Long long time ago there was a browser war. The whole world watched with gasping breath as Netscape Navigator kept releasing newer and better versions of the browser compared to the Internet Explorer of Microsoft

Attending Shakeel Ali’s class is a unique experience apart from the “geek stuff” he teaches. He is a repository of many interesting & authentic facts about computer languages. I was lucky to have heard one of those interesting trivia on the rise and fall of Netscape Navigator.

Long long time ago there was a browser war. The whole world watched with gasping breath as Netscape Navigator kept releasing newer and better versions of the browser compared to the Internet Explorer of Microsoft. As years passed by Netscape invested heavily into the browser technology and had by then made it a paid software. Andromeda darshini and Milkyway milkshake

So came the idea of a fusion between the food and astronomy. Eventhough it looks being miles apart yet it has a common ground in getting youngesters attracted to it. So the end product was an ” Astronomy Themed Restaurant”

I’ve been passionate about astronomy and always been attracted to the 3 stars of the Orion constellation. Even though astronomy is a pure science and a hybrid of many fundamental subjects such as Physics, Maths and chemistry yet it has always attracted more youngesters than anyother science subjects.

Parallely i’ve been interested in my culture and wide variety of food it comes with. Let it be the Punjabi thalis or the south Indian dosas, i always get excited whenever i’m gorging it. Without any doubt it is a crowd puller and more so youngesters who are willing to experiment in trying different dishes than the ones they have daily.

The Antennae Galaxies in Collision

Two galaxies are squaring off in Corvus and here are the latest pictures

Two galaxies are squaring off in Corvus and here are the latest pictures. But when two galaxies collide, the stars that compose them usually do not. That’s because galaxies are mostly empty space and, however bright, stars only take up only a small amount of that space. During the slow, hundred million year collision, one galaxy can still rip the other apart gravitationally, and dust and gas common to both galaxies does collide. In this clash of the titans, dark dust pillars mark massive molecular clouds are being compressed during the galactic encounter, causing the rapid birth of millions of stars, some of which are gravitationally bound together in massive star clusters.
